Technology in the 21st Century is apart of our everyday lives, and student’s everyday lives. Education should incorporate everything that surrounds our environment. Doesn’t it make sense to embrace what surrounds us? Technology is the number one resource that our world turns to. It only makes sense to use technology in education. Students can learn a great deal of information from technology. Teachers should be well informed of the use of technology. The features that computers, cell phones, white boards, projectors and computer programs are so flexible. Students can see things through technology that they may never be able to see in real life. The Internet connects the world. Students can talk to other students in different countries. Students can go on virtual tours, look up information in seconds, and find resources in a matter of minutes. If teachers are not using these key components in their lesson plans then the students are at a loss of where the world is today. There are so many lessons to be learned through technology. Students can be caught up on current events, see other countries, experience new cultures. The list of lessons and activities for students to do with technology is endless. Students can make their own websites, projects, and power points. There are endless possibilities to technology incorporated into education. All students and teachers should take advantage of the amazing resources we have in this century. I have learned to embrace technology in education in this class. The class showed me so many ways to teach students through many sources of technology. The class taught me how to show students that there are a lot more things going on in the world that they need to know about. Students should learn how to work with certain programs and learn how to decipher the meaning of different things through the Internet. The class also taught me how one lesson can be based on the use of technology and they every lesson should have technology incorporated in it. I have learned that to be a teacher you have to keep up with what the students are doing in their everyday lives. Right now in this day and age students are overwhelmed with the resources that are surrounding them through technology. Teachers should also be drowning in the use of technology and feeding students minds through the beautiful culture of this new technological age.
